The Beverly Hillbillies was a Syndication network sitcom created by Paul Henning that starred Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas and Max Baer, Jr.

The show premiered on September 26, 1962 and became one of the top 20 most-watched TV programs for 8 of its 9 seasons on the air and ranked as the number one series of the year twice.

During its run, "The Beverly Hillbillies" have gotten 7 Emmy nominations. On March 23, 1971, the show was cancelled after 9 seasons and 274 episodes.

In 1981, a television movie "Return of the Beverly Hillbillies" aired on Syndication and in 1993, a film remake was made by 20th Century Fox.

Synopsis[]

The show was about the Clampetts, a hillbilly family who moves to Beverly Hills, California after striking oil on their and shakes up the privileged society with their hayseed ways.
