
JAG (short for Judge Advocate General) is an American military and legal television series that aired on NBC from September 23, 1995 to May 22, 1996 and moved to CBS from January 3, 1997 to April 29, 2005. It also aired on USA television.
The series spawned the spin-off series NCIS.
Synopsis[]
The series focused on the cases of Harmon Rabb, a former US Navy fighter pilot and his fellow lawyers of the US Navy's Judge Advocate General's office.

Season overview[]
Season 1[]
JAG appeared actually on the NBC network running from September 23, 1995, and concluded on July 15, 1996. It introduced the main character Harmon Rabb Junior, other key characters such as LT Caitlin Pike and LTJG Meg Austin. It further introduced the tough yet caring RADM A. J. Chegwidden. NBC NBC announced that they were not commissioning Paramount Television to make a second season of JAG in spring 1996. Creater Donald P. Bellisario received offers from other networks ABC and CBS and the latter picked it up. JAG Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger.
Season 2[]
The second season of JAG premiered officially on CBS on January 3, 1997, and concluded on April 18, 1997. In place of LT JG Meg Austin, a tall, busty US Marine Corps Major named Sarah MacKenzie was partnered with LTCR Harmon Rabb. ENS Bud Roberts also was added as a main character.
Season 3[]
JAG continued with the same main and recurring characters from Season 2. The main opening episode is a key one Ghost Ship where Harm finds a book containing US fighter pilots captured during the Vietnam War including his father shipped to the Soviet Union. Other key episodes include Above and Beyond where the JAG duo encounter a rebellious SEAL, Impact where Harm meets his first main nemsis Clark Palmer; People vs Rabb where Harm gets arrested when attempting to acquire documents regarding his father; Chains of Commmand where Harm, Mac Bud sing "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted"; Death Watch where the Season 1 cliffhanger Skeleton Crew is concluded and finally To Russia With Love where Harm travels to Russia.
