Gilligan's island

Gilligan's Island was a Syndication network sitcom created by Sherwood Schwartz which premiered on September 26, 1964.

The cast consisted of Bob Denver (in the title role), Alan Hale Jr., Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Russell Johnson, Tina Louise & Dawn Wells.

The first season of the series was filmed in black and white (which were later colorized for syndication) and the show's second & third seasons and the three television movie sequels: "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" (in 1978), "The Castaways of Gilligan's Island" (in 1979) and "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island" (in 1981) were filmed in color.

On April 17, 1967, the show was cancelled after three seasons and 98 episodes.

"Gilligan's Island" spawned three spin-offs: "The New Adventures of Gilligan (which aired on the Syndication network from 1974 to 1977), "Gilligan's Planet" (which aired from 1982 to 1983) and "Dusty's Trail" (which aired in syndication from 1973 to 1974).
